I want you to experience a thriving relationship
Meet David Wadman,
Hope Generator
I help couples to recapture happiness and hope in their marriage or romantic partnership. I believe by teaching communication and conflict resolution skills, couples can solve issues and restore connection.
I am passionate about helping people find and maintain healthy, meaningful relationships, especially for those relationships that are the closest emotionally of marriages and dating/engaged couples.
If you have been struggling to find the relationship you want—or to repair and maintain the one you have—then I would love to talk to you and find out more about your situation and show you how I can help. Call or email today for a free 15-minute consultation.
Biography
I was born and raised on the East Coast with the majority of my childhood, college years and my 20’s spent living in various parts of Pennsylvania.
During the majority of my childhood, my parents worked as Salvation Army officers managing Drug and Alcohol rehab facilities in various cities. Growing up with parents in ministry and spending a significant amount of time around recovering addicts provided some unique elements to childhood and have been helpful experiences for what would become my future career in the mental health field. Seeing some of the residents of the rehab programs successfully work toward sobriety, while seeing others struggle mightily to overcome their addiction, provided some early lessons in having a greater understanding of many aspects of human behavior and the challenges of addiction.
After college, I worked in the Human Resources field for a large insurance company with experience in recruiting, employee relations, compensation and other related areas. In this role I gained valuable business experience and, in my years now as a therapist, I have had many clients tell me how much they appreciate my business sense and understanding of corporate dynamics since it can assist me in more deeply comprehending the context of their work life and circumstances that they may want to discuss.
In my early 30’s I felt a call to major changes in life that involved a move from the Philadelphia area to Los Angeles and attending graduate school at Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena. I studied theology and psychology courses to complete my Marriage and Family Therapy degree followed over the next few years with the completion of my requirements to be licensed in California and the launch of my own private practice.
Along the way, I met my wonderful wife and we spent a short time living in San Diego County and now in Ventura County. My Christian faith is a core and central part of my life and I am a partner of the Church at Rocky Peak in Chatsworth.
In my free time I love to read, listen to podcasts and spend time with family and friends. I am also a huge fan of many sports and love frequent hikes and mountain bike rides throughout the many incredible trails in my geographic area. I believe in the effectiveness of exercise and being in the outdoors as powerful self-care providers. I encourage everyone I see to find their own regular ways to recharge and take care of themselves for positive mental health and to improve the quality of the relationships in their lives.
